Andi's New Words

At fifteen months, Andi was able to speak a few words aside from her usual Mama and Dada.   Now, she could say nayt nayt for goodnight and ate (big sister).   Though her words are quiet limited, she could almost understand everything you said.  She can follow instructions, like picking up something, closing the door, going to her Dad or Ate.   She has her own way of letting me know what she wants or communicating things she wanted to say.   For instance, every time I asked her if she had poop, she would pull her clothes up if she did.  If not she moved her head from side to side and that means No.

At her age, she is just amazing because she is making her own individuality.   She already have some characteristics that I could identify as her own.  She is just growing up so fast, that's all I could say!!!

Andi's first snow experienced!

We went to Leavenworth last week to have some family time off.   The snow there was quiet high and the Christmas lights are amazing.  Leavenworth was quiet famous for its Christmas lightings during Christmas here in Washington.    People from different part of Washington go there to witnessed the Christmas lighting festival and experience a little of German tradition.  They call this place The Little German Town.   In the middle of the town where the celebration is always held has a small park where kids could sled and have fun.  Andi enjoyed walking  around the shops and just hanging out and checking things around.  But she really had fun touching and playing in the snow.  She enjoyed sledding too, she was not scared even a single bit.

Look at her, she even removed her gloves to be able to touch and feel the snow.

She is not even scared or bothered by the adrenaline rush in going down the hill.  She is just amazing, she just wanted to do things her big sister did!!!

I am back finally!

I have not updated this blog for almost three long months!!! Gosh it was just a busy busy months with all those classes that I have this quarter.  Since fall quarter is over, here I am finally back and promised that I will be updating this blog more often.

Andi is 14 months now and is growing so fast, learning a lot of stuff too.  She is like a little girl who understand almost everything, except that she does not talk yet.  But I am telling you that she knows a way how to let you know what she wants.  Since I was not able to update this blog for quiet sometime, i will start from Andi's first Halloween.

Here are some of her pictures:
This was her costume during the Halloween.  Her Dad decided to dress her up like this.  A lot of people was so delighted at her, she is just unique in the middle of all those kids.  But a lot of them though that she is a boy too!  I just have to correct them that she is a girl :-)

This is Andi going around the neighborhood with Kuya Tan and the rest of the kids.

And this is Andi after the trick or treating, all burned out and hungry.   She gulp a bottle of milk in a matter of a few minutes, then back again on her feet to have fun with the other kids.  She was just having a ball during that time, and it was so contagious!  I am happy seeing how happy my baby is :-)

Andi and her new toy!

Andi got her 1st birthday present from mommy the other day. A 3 n 1 smart wheels toy. She was so excited while we unwrapped her present. She will be celebrating her 1st Birthday two weeks from now. How time fly so fast, she is almost one year old!

She rewarded me with her big precious smile. I could not asked for anything more. Making my little angel happy is the most important thing.

Andi @ 10 months

This picture was taken when she was just 10 months old. She started walking at ten months, after a couple of weeks she could walk on her own. Her development is just amazing! She could walk by herself, point to things she wanted, point to people she knows, could drink in glass using a straw, and feed herself .

She just love to follow and imitate her big sister. She joins her sister in any play activities, even doing the somersault ! She just could not roll her bottom though, but she looks so funny doing that.

Protect your baby's skin with Boudreaux's Butt Paste

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Boudreaux's Butt Paste. All opinions are 100% mine.

Every mother knows that taking good care of your baby's skin is equal to taking good care of their health and daily needs. The softness of baby's skin always makes you wanted to hug, caress and cuddle to your hearts content. The baby who is comfortable and secure of her mothers love comes out to be a happy baby. That is why we always have to make sure that our baby is comfortable, healthy and received lots of love and attention. All mommies out there wanted to give that to their little ones, but we mommies are only human who makes mistakes. Me for instance, due to so much household chores and stuff running in my mind, I was not able to change for a couple of hours my baby's diaper. When I changed her diaper it has poop on it! From there and then, I know what will happen next. So when I wash her with soap and water, I could see red rashes on her bottom. My poor little angel was crying, I think because she could already feel a little bit of burning at her bottom. I put petroleum on the rashes because I do not have one of those Boudreaux's Butt Paste. I think I need to visit their website, because I heard that they are giving away free sample of Boudreaux's Butt Paste. If I have one of those, my baby will not experienced the same discomfort every time she has a rash. Diaper rash ointment is one of the must have in every mommies medicine cabinet. I have learned it now, just the hard way. So, don't be like me, go check out Boudreaux's Butt Paste website and get that free sample now.

I have also learned that Boudreaux's Butt Paste was specifically formulated by a pharmacist under the direction of respected pediatrician to provide effective diaper rash care. It treats diaper rash and soothes irritated skin, so your baby will not get fussy even though she has diaper rash. For our convenience this comes is different sizes and packaging. You can buy them in flip top cap or handy travel size. Convenient sizes of 1oz, 2oz, 3oz and 4oz tubes, 16oz jar.

Boudreaux's Butt Paste was featured in different magazines and TV shows like; ESPN, Tonight Show, Today Show, Oprah Show and People Magazine.

To all mommies out there who has little angel like me, check out Boudreaux's Butt Paste for your baby's skin.

Aside from her passport, I started preparing for her 1st birthday next month. I made reservation at Seattle Children's Museum and hopefully it will be a success!!!

Hi there :-)

Hi there, it has been a while since I updated this blog. I think that was a month ago? Oh well, I was not able to anticipate how busy life will be when you try to squeeze, online classes, kids and household chores.

Since my last post, Andi has reached a lot of milestones. Just this evening, her Dad was trying to video her while walking. Yes, she has started walking at ten months!!! She got 10 teeth, 5 up and 5 down. She is eating mostly solids now, three to five times a day. Her milk intake is the same which is amazing because she is eating solid as well. Sometimes, I wonder where did all those foods go?

We will e celebrating her 1st birthday in a couple of months from now. We are trying to start planning her birthday but does not have any definite plans yet.

I will try to update as much as I can on what is happening on the next few days or months.

Andi @ 8 months

Sorry guys if I have not been updating this blog for quiet some time. I am taking online classes and I am quiet loaded with classes and household chores and kids at the moment. But I will try to post something here from time to time.

Here is Andi at 8 months. She is quiet advance in her development. At eight months, she is standing up and walking (while holding on to something), eating solid three times a day, aside from snacks on the side. She knows how to point into something when she wanted something. She can say Mama, Dada and Ate (big sister).

Here she is.

We are making fun of Andi's reflection at the gravity mirror. Her she is.

Don't you just love it when your kids love each other?

Andi @ seven months

Andi is now seven months old. Growing so fast and developing so fast too. She is now learning to crawl, actually just figured out how to crawl forward, she used to do it backwards! But I am surprised to see that she is standing up and walking (of course while holding on into something). She is learning two skills simultaneously ! Amazing ! I have just mentioned to hubby that we need to start putting safety measures in the house. He promised to buy covers for electrical outlets on weekend and install those cabinet locks. But most of all, I need gates for the fireplace and stairs! Today, I saw her went to the fireplace, our fireplace by the way has natural stones on the sides (not too sharp but rough edges), and playing with the telephone wire plug into the outlet. Oh my goodness, this kiddo is so busy since she learned how to crawl. I could see how busy I will be just by watching her every move on the next few days.

Glad that she is developing in a fast pace at the same time worried on all these safety issues thingy around the house.

"You Gotta See This" Video Contest by Abbott Medical

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Incendia Health. All opinions are 100% mine.

Abbott Medical Optics, Inc (AMO) a global leader in vision correction invited people to share their experiences on how their life had changed because of improved vision. Now they are announcing the entries and winners of this contest at www.GottaSeeThisNow.com.

Prizes for this iLASIK Video Contest are:

1. Grand prize of $5,000.00
2. HDTV Package worth $2,500.00
3. Flip UltraHD camcorder worth $199.99

This contest has three categories:
1. My Contacts Are Getting In The Way Of My Good Time
2. My Favorite Sport Or Activity Would Be So Much Cooler With Better Vision
3. You Should See Life After The iLASIK Procedure

There will be one grand prize winner and two winners in each category.

I think this iLASIK Video Contest is a good way of letting people share their experiences at the same time educate us on how improved vision could bring a huge benefit in our lives.

Just like for instance, my husband who has a very poor vision with 375 on one eye and 400 on the other, always complains that his eye glasses gets in the way every time he played basketball or any other sports. Having eye glasses give you limited mobility on some activities. He has been thinking of having iLASIK procedure but not so confident about it. Simply because he does not have enough information on this subject and does not know any people who have undergone the procedure. I hope someday, he will have the courage to do it, so I don't have to hear his complaints every time he plays basketball, swimming or any other sports.

I like this idea of a video contest because it will encourage people who have a poor vision to do something about it and to start enjoying things that they love to do.

Andi and the Tulips

These pictures were taken at Tulips Festival in Skagit WA. We went there last weekend when all the tulips are in full bloom.

Andi with the other kids. My husband wanted to get a solo picture of Andi under those flying kites but when the kids saw her sitting in the grass they all run to her and sat beside her.

Andi is still sick!

It is quit difficult when one of your baby is sick. Andi has been sick for a few days now, she has terrible colds! My poor baby, but she never complains. She still plays and eat normally but having difficulty drinking her milk. Gabz has colds too but at least she is old enough to handle it. How I wish they will get well soon.

Andi @ Kids Cove

I brought the kids at the mall today for a change and to relax. We have been staying inside the house for a few days now, since it has been raining almost everyday. It's spring brake so Gabz is home everyday and so bored. I thought, I will bring her to the mall to give her some outlet for those boiling energy inside her. Inside Bellevue Square there is a play area for kids on the third level called Kids Cove.

Andi was so happy seeing those kids running around. She was so excited, so I put her down in the floor or wherever there are few kids playing. Since she does not crawl yet, she was contented touching things she could reach.

Alvin and the Chipmunks is back!

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Alvin and the Chipmunks. All opinions are 100% mine.

Do you guys still remember Alvin and the Chipmunks? The picture is still so clear in my mind the last time I saw this movie. I was so fascinated, engrossed and entertained by the way these little creatures dance and sing. Never mind the ear piercing voice they have, just watched the way they dance and their choreography. You will be amazed and will make you think, what if there are chipmunks who sing and dance in real life. Would people still be amazed or will they freak out?

This movie gave us a lot of lessons to learn in life. Material things does not last long, fame is not forever, people used others to get what they want and family will always be there behind you to give support and catch you when you fall. This movie also gives a glimpse of the real world of child celebrities where some people exploit and take advantage of their talent. Focused on glamour and greed of record companies who are only interested in generating more profits and cash without any regard on what is happening to their celebrities.

Alvin and the chipmunks is wonderfully fun movie. If you are one of those people who love these creatures, you will be delighted to hear that Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel is now available on DVD, Blu-ray and Digital Download! This double pack DVD includes the "The Squeak Along" bonus disc with more music, sing-a-longs and mayhem's. Don't wait any longer
buy it now and have a blast with your kids! Don't forget to visit http://www.munkyourself.com. I have not seen this new movie yet, but I am sure Gabz and Andi will love to watch this movie. Of course not only the kids but their mom and dad too! This will be a great film to watch on our family movie night every Friday!

To all mom and dad out there, don't forget to check out the new Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel DVD double pack. I am sure your family will have a great time watching and listening to the chipmunks. Looking for More Munk Mayhem? Simply visit http://www.foxfamilyflicks.com.

Baby Proofing your House

I think it is time for me to start putting those safety things around the house for Andi. Just the other day, I put Andi down on the floor for her tummy time while I did some household chores. I tried to check on her every couple of minutes and every time I did that she was on different part of the living room. After a couple of minutes I heard him scream, I run onto her and found her beside the fireplace stone slab. I guess she hit her head on the slab when she rolled on her side. I was so concerned and asked my husband to put an edge protector. And he did after a couple of days. I thought of putting other safety measures around the house too.

Here are some baby proofing tips:

  • Andi now sits on her own while playing and grab things that she could reach. Don't forget to get down on your knees and check things that your baby could reach.
  • Clean the floor often for small things that she could put on her mouth.
  • Put safety gates at the top and bottom of the stairs. I need to purchase this one soon!
  • Put latched or safety locked on every cabinets and doors.
  • Put breakable things out of reach.
  • Put outlet covers. This one is very important!
  • Store all cleaning materials, medicines, vitamins, etc on the top cabinet that is out of reach.
  • Always put one hand to your baby at all times.
Hope this simple tips will help protect your child from any harm.

Goodluck !

New Teeth coming in

At five months Andi has already 3 teeth and I could see that more are coming out soon. She has been grabbing anything and putting it in her mouth to chew. Sometimes she became frustrated and just scream. Poor baby :-(

Here are a few things I do to help her feel a little bit better:

  • Rub his gum with my clean finger or sometimes I let her chew it.
  • Give her a cold teething ring to chew on
  • Let her chew a wash cloth, or any clean cloth
One thing I never did, is to give her any medication for her teething. I believed that teething is part of growing up and a little pain and discomfort will make her pain tolerance stronger. It will help develop her patience as well.

Good thing with Andi's teething is that she never had any fever because of that. Some baby's experienced fever and diarrhea while teething. Of course every baby's development and personality are different. Please feel free to share your baby's own experienced.

She has ear infection and Roseola Virus

It was almost a week that Andi has terrible runny nose, I think she got it from me. One evening, she felt kinda hot so I checked her temperature and it was 99.9. The next morning, she was so hot and when I checked she has 102.8 temperature. I panicked because it was the first time that my child has a temperature that high. I immediately gave her Tylenol and called her pediatrician if we could come in on that day. Later on found out that she has ear infection on her left ear. She took Amoxycillin for the infection. During the night, she had trouble sleeping, suddenly scream in the middle of her sleep and cried. She was running a 104 temperature too. I gave her Tylenol and sponge bath to bring the fever down. The next couple of days was a struggle for both of us, she does not want to be put down. I was carrying her all day long. Saturday morning, we noticed a lot of small red spots on her face, head and body. I immediately called the doctor and informed them about it. They asked me to bring Andi at the clinic. Found out that she has Roseola virus. A virus that is very common to baby's and toddlers. It usually comes with a very high fever followed with a rash. When fever comes, some kids was having a seizure. But when the rash comes out, it means that she had overcome the virus. The virus goes away on its own, no medicine needed and nothing you can do about it. It is just like, being part of growing up for kids. The rash usually takes 3 to 4 days. Now Andi is ok and the rash is almost gone. She is back to her old self again.

Trade Shows and Exhibits

A few years ago, I used to work with a company that sells power plant engine. I was part of the sales team back then. In sales, we do a lot of promotions to introduce the product to the market. One way of doing this, is to participate in trade shows and exhibits. We invite customers and people we knew to visit the exhibit for them to know what are the product updates and latest technologies. Participating in a trade show or exhibit is not an easy task. It needs a lot of preparation, planning and hard work. You have to make sure that every detail has been done, from invitations to booth displays. Booth displays alone needs brain storming, because this is the best time to show what you've got to convince people to buy your product, services or ideas.

Your trade show booth on the other hand has to stand out among the rest to attract more people. You need to have banner stands; these are very useful advertising tools that can be set up anywhere. There are retractable versions, L shaped styles and indoor / outdoor models.

To put a little design on our booth, we tried using some pipe and drape as dividers. Many other organizations use them as privacy walls and crowd control. Table skirts will make your booth more formal. These table skirts could be attach around the perimeter of a table using special clips or just Velcro. They can be printed on to add a logo if needed and come in a variety of colors.

With all the materials and proper planning, your trade show or exhibit will definitely become a success!

Andi is sick :-) we all are

I hate being sick :-) I have been sick for almost a week now. My cough and colds is so terrible, never experienced so much phlegm in my life. One day my husband has to stay at home to take good care of me and the kids because I could not function anymore. I was afraid that I might drop Andi while holding her. I feel tired and drowsy most of the time. The worst part? Andi catch the same colds ! Poor baby :-) It was not surprising at all since I touch and cuddle her all day. The terrible part, I could drink medicine and Andi could not. We purely rely of humidifier for her colds, sometimes I gave her Tylenol because sometimes her eyes becomes watery because of colds.

I hope this virus will leave the house soon, before Gabz could catch it :-(

Have you heard of Mesothelioma?

Mesothelioma is a cancerous disease that grows in the outer linings of the lungs. It is very rare because this disease could only be acquired through asbestos exposure. Asbestos is a mineral that could be found in construction materials such as cement, roofing shingles, to commercial products such as hair dryer and automobile brake pads. If a person works in the production of these products and are exposed to asbestos, they are most likely to get Mesothelioma cancer. Mesothelioma is very difficult to diagnose because symptoms will not appear after 20 years or so. And most of its symptoms are similar to other diseases. These are a few signs and symptoms of Mesothelioma; chest pain, shortness of breath, fatigue, coughing, weight loss, yellowing of the skin, low blood sugar, etc.

Mesothelioma could be treated by surgery, radiation and chemotherapy. Studies proved that 74.6% success rate in extending a patient's life through chemotherapy. Many people have died because of this rare and dangerous disease. Studies and research is still being done for the early detection of Mesothelioma to a person.

On the other hand, many books and research have been published about Mesothelioma, asbestos exposure and the likes. Paul Kraus wrote a book on how he survived Mesothelioma. Check out the book and see what he has to say. You can also read some testimonials from other Mesothelioma patients about this book. You can get a copy of the book for FREE

I am sure this book has tons of useful information, since it was written by someone who experienced and survived Mesothelioma. I think it is worth checking out!

Andi's milestones @ 5 months

This picture was taken last weekend while hiking. Her Dad loves to let Andi stand at the corner, behind the door or peeking at the counter top as if Andi is standing by herself. I can't resist her every time they do that.

Andi is five months old today. So far here are her milestones:

1. She has three teeth in front (lower portion)
2. She rolled in any direction (sometimes she was rolling all over the living room)
3. She started eating solid (home prepared). Today she had squash and banana.
4. She is very emotional too (she cried when your voice goes up as if you are mad, pretend that you are mad, and she will cry!)
5. She keeps pushing her bootie up (as if she wants to crawl?)
6. She loves playing tea party with big sister ! She usually sits on her swing while big sis sits in front of her with a mini table with tea sets on it !
7. She loves watching TV !!!

Sometimes I felt overwhelmed on how fast she grows up...I was discussing with hubby last night that we need to start putting safety measures around the house. Yesterday, while doing household chores, I put Andi down in the carpet with big blanket spread all over. After a few minutes I tried to check on her and she was just playing. But every time I checked on her, she moved from one place to another. After a while I saw her in front of our fireplace ! Half of her body was on the stone slab and half is in the carpet. I was so scared that she might had bumped her head or something...maybe not because she did not cried at all. But then it hits me, what if next time it will? I asked hubby to better go to Home Depot and find something to cover the edge of the stone slab...

While that is still under planning...I make sure that I watched her most of the time while playing on the floor.

Mommy Moments - Valentines Day

Valentines Day, the moment their Dad woke up everybody gave their Valentines Card. This is the first valentine that I was not able to cook breakfast in bed for my hubby. I woke up late!!!

Dad cooked breakfast for the three girls in his life. After that we went to mass and have lunch at a fine dining restaurant. That is Dads another treat for her girls.

On our way home, since everybody ate too much and the weather is quite nice, we decided to take a walk at the park beside the lake. A whole day of bonding time ! Our valentines day was as simple as that and yet it means a lot to us. Spending time with my family!

I hope everyone had a great valentines day!

Baby's first toys

I have this overwhelming feeling every time I saw my two daughters playing. Andi could already appreciate her sister in the sense that she respond to her big sister when Gabz made a sound or do things that would make her smile. Andi learns to enjoy watching and playing with big sis and vice versa.

I was reading through a magazine this morning and according to one expert these are the must have toys in every kids toybox.

1. Books - I definitely agree on this one.

2. Touch toys - not so much for Andi because she is on a stage where she put everything on her mouth.

3. Visual toys - mobile, activity mats, plastic mirror or something that has lots of bright colors.
My Andi love this toy that makes bright lights, sounds and spins!

4. Hearing and listening toys -

5. Imitation toys

What do you think mom?

Mommy Moments - Language of Love

Wow it's Friday again! Mommy Moments theme is Language of Love, in time for Valentines Day this Sunday.

Yesterday, we were doing a Valentines card for Daddy. Gabz simply said, "Mommy, I want to write I love you Daddy on the card". And here it is.

The Bee card is from Gabz and the other one is from Andi. These cards are for their Daddy.

This is inside Gabz valentines card. She wrote it herself.

Since Andi does not know how to handle a pen yet, I draw her hand instead inside the card. hehehehe and mommy wrote for her.

Their Daddy always look forward for something during Valentines Day. The last Valentines card given by Gabz is still hanging in his office wall.

Green Police

The above video is a teaser for a 2010 Audi super bowl commercial featuring the green police. The Green Police busting out another policeman using a plastic or styrofoam cup. I watched the whole commercial and I would say that It is very good in the sense that it conveys a very positive message to the people on how to be green. At the same time it shows off the Audi A3 TDI.

I appluad Audi for this commercial because they show to the people how much they care about our environment.

When did you start giving solids to your baby?

For all moms out there, when did you start giving solids to your baby? Some pediatrician says that you can start giving solids at four months while others said to wait until the baby reaches six months.

Andi is now four months old and her pedia told me that I could start introducing solid to her. She is eyeing everything I put in my mouth ! She even wakes up when it is meal time. Sometimes she grabs my plate when I ate while holding her. What do you do when your baby do that? Do you just give in and feed her or you still wait until she reaches the exact age?

A lot of moms told me to wait until six months because it has it's benefits. They said that your child has decreased risk for allergies and diabetes later in life if you start solids at this age.

Maybe I should wait then. :-)

The throat sighs!

PIANO LESSON FOR CHILDREN

People said that piano is the ideal musical instrument for children who wanted to learn or study music.

Here are the benefits of playing the piano to children.

1. Enhance motor skills.
2. Develop hand - eye coordination
3. Increase self esteem
4. Improved memorization and concentration
5. Children become well rounded individual

These are the only few benefits and I am sure there are a lot more that could be develop when your child learn how to play the piano.

My husband who is a music lover wanted to enroll our daughter in a piano lesson. He has been telling me that ever since he noticed our daughter's inclination in music. He wanted to learn how to play the piano himself but he thinks he is too old for that. That is why he badly wanted Gabz to enroll in piano. I was telling him that it will be good for Gabz, but I think it is quite early for her. She is just four years old, maybe two to three years from now?

A lot of companies and individual offers piano lessons. You could even have piano lessons online! I was trying to surf the Internet for piano lessons and I was surprised that you can even study online by watching a video? Wow that is really amazing! When I was a kid, the only thing I know is that a piano teacher is the only one who can teach you how to play the piano. Technology indeed brought us to the next level.

When the time comes that Gabz wants to play the piano, I wanted her to learn her piano lessons from a piano teacher.

Andi can sit!

Andi can now sit on her own! Her development really surprised me. I just tried to let her sit down in bed and I was surprised to see that she can sit by herself in a few minutes. Not for long, but she was able to balance herself now.

A pose with big sister. Big sis wanted to join the fun too. Too bad the whole family is sick, we all have cough and colds. Gabz was not able to go to school because of that. Andi has runny nose, but she never complains. That is why she is wearing that fluffy suit to keep her warm.
